Wrightway Health

Wrightway Health specialises in medicals for the energy sector. We have five accredited doctors who are available Monday to Friday to support your needs. We will always respond in a prompt and timely fashion, with appointments often available on the same day.

OGUK (Oil and Gas UK)

The OGUK medical assessment is required for all staff undertaking work in the UK offshore sector. Wrightway Health’s experienced and accredited doctors can carry this out for you, and upon completion you will be provided with an Oil and Gas UK Offshore Certificate. The OGUK medical now also includes certification to work on platforms in Norwegian and Dutch waters, with no additional medical required.

Contact us now if your business needs an occupational health partner that you can trust to ensure that your employees are fit enough to maintain the safety of your whole team. We provide each of the key energy sector medicals, including from the Maritime Coastguard Agency (e.g. ENG1), OGUK and a number of foreign standards.

What do these energy medicals cost?

ENG1 medicals cost £95 +VAT

ENG1 price increases

We have been informed by the MCA ( Maritime Coastguard Agency) that the price of ENG1 medicals is to rise as follows

This is to advise you that from 13 November 2018, the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) will be increasing statutory fees.

There will be phased increases covering fees to survey a vessel and the fee for statutory medical examinations for seafarers (ENG).

The Seafarer Medical Examination Fee (ENG1 Fee) will increase in three stages from £95 to £115.

1st Phase; 13 November 2018 from £80 to £95

2nd Phase 13 November 2019 £95 to £105

3rd Phase 13 November 2020 £105 to £115.

This is the first increase in MCA fees since 2006. A consultation was carried out in 2016, involving customers, doctors and the maritime industry. MCA Approved Doctors provided valuable comments and evidence to the consultation. Responses to the consultation indicated that industry largely supports the increases, but welcomes the gradual phasing-in, which is designed to reduce the impact on businesses and individuals.

Step Change

CAA regulations require passengers riding in helicopters offshore to be measured, to ensure that they are sitting in a safe seat. Wrightway Health is now accredited to provide these measurements. Click here to read about the Step Change requirements.
